Calvary Bible Baptist Ministry
The Calvary Bible Baptist Ministry was started by Pastor Kwame Togbi-Wonyo, Mawuli’s father. After pastoring a church in the district of Bè under ABWE for several years, the Lord burdened him with a broader work and called him to start a church planting ministry. Following the Spirit’s leading, Pastor Kwame left being a stationary pastor and launched his church planting career in 1994 with the inauguration of the African Baptist Mission (ABM). It is under the umbrella of this indigenous mission agency that are established the Calvary Bible Baptist Churches of Togo. The first church that was started was the Ebenezer Temple. Several other local churches saw their births through the efforts of Pastor Kwame and of native missionaries that were sent out of the Ebenezer Temple.
Today, the vision that was given to Pastor Kwame has expanded greatly. Hundreds of souls have been saved by means of this vision and several churches planted. Also established is a Bible institute that trains nationals who are both ordained and sent out to tend to the spiritual needs of the believers. Many of our local church pastors are graduates of the Bible institute.
The African Baptist Mission also runs a Christian school. Tens of school children have been exposed to the gospel so far and several have been won to the Lord.
Today, Pastor Mawuli is leading this ministry to refocus its mission so as to broaden its reach and enhance its scope of influence.
Originally known as the Baptist Mission of Togo, ABM is chartered by the government of Togo.
