SOCCER MINISTRY

If there is one sport that unites Africa, it is soccer. It is so dear to the hearts of young people. Many a boy dreams of one day becoming a professional soccer player. From personal observation, we have come to understand that one of the quickest ways of getting young people exposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ is through soccer. When we started the soccer ministry in April, 2013, our convictions were confirmed. We reached many young boys that we would not have had the opportunity to reach otherwise. Within a month, 13 young men gave their lives to the Lord. By the end of the year we were able to reach 21 young men for Christ, some of whom come to church faithfully. We are continuing to reach others with the gospel. Today, about half of those reached through this outreach program have moved out of the area. They would probably not have been saved if we hadn’t started this ministry a year ago.

The ministry continues but we need your prayers and support. The soccer club needs equipment. We also have to recruit some people to coach them. Please pray for this ministry. Its official name is FC Esperance. It currently has 27 members.

Our prayer is that men should trust in the Lord with all their hearts, "That they might set their hope in God...because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world..."
Psalm 78:7; Acts 17:31
